The emu is a
large flightless Australian bird. It is the second-largest bird in the world, after
the African ostrich. It grows up to 1,5- 2 meters high and weighs up to 60
kilograms.
Emus are great runners;
on short distances they develop the speed up to 50 kilometers per hour. However, emus usually walk with the speed of
4-7 kilometers per hour, 10-25 km per day.
Emus also swim fairly well, and they can cross rivers they meet on their
way. Instead of swimming, emus prefer just splash in water.
