London is not only the capital of the Great Britain. It's also one of the most beautiful and largest cities in the world. Every day the people from all over the world come here to look at this amazing city. There are so many places in London to see that it is difficult to mark some most famous. Of course the first sight in London that you must visit is Big Ben,the famous clock and the symbol of London. City is also famous for Westminster Abbey, a gothic church. One of the interests of London is the Houses of Parliament, the seat of the British Government.
There are many other places of interest in London: Trafalgar Square, Regent’s Park and, of course, the British Museum.
London stands on the river Thames. Crossing the river by the Tower Bridge you can see the Tower of London. It is one of the oldest buildings of the city. Many centuries ago it was a fortress, a royal palace and then a prison. Now it is a museum of arms.
There are four parts of London: East End, West End, Westminster and The City.
The City is the busiest part of London and contains the majority of sights as well.
Westminster is considered to be the administrative centre of London, where the British Parliament and big Towers of the Palace of Westminster are situated.
West End is the most luxurious part of London, full of rich hotels, expensive shops, concert-halls and cinemas. Traditionally East End is thought to be the industrial part of London: factories, works, manufactures and other essential buildings.
London consists of very beautiful museums and parks. The most famous between them are The British Museum and Green Park.
All in all, London is fairly concerned to be one of the richest and most popular European cities.
