My
dream
My cherished dream is to visit Moscow someday.
At our lessons we often "travel" to Moscow. There are a lot of
wonderful sights there. And I would like to see everything with my own eyes.
And if I had such opportunity , first of all I
would go to Red Square to walk along the streets .And, of course, I would to
see Moscow undeground.
Then I would go to the Kremlin Palace to see the
real president there. I am sure he is very handsome! And, of course, I would
admire the Changing of the Guard. One day I saw this wonderful show on TV!
After that I would visit the Moscow Zoo and feed
the animals.
And besides I would visit the Moscow parks
because as I have read, they are so beautiful.
I am happy to be here and want to make
friends with the inhabitants of Moscow
Returning home, I would buy souvenirs to all my
relatives and friends. And as for me the trip to Moscow would be the greatest
gift!

Dear "English Bridge",
I'd like to tell about the invention of telephone. It was invented by Alexander Bell in 1875. Alexander Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. When his family went to America, he was given a teaching position with deaf people and he became interested in speech. His work was financed by the father of one of his pupils. The story goes that Bell invented the telephone by accident. At the time he was experimenting with the telegraph. He spilled some acid and called his assistant. "Come here, Mr Watson, I want to see you" Watson was in the other room and he heard Bell through apparatus. The first telephone exchange which connected 21 people was opened 1878. The first communication satellite was launched in 1962

Hi, everybody!
I think that one of the most important inventions for the mankind of the first accurate clock which was designed by Christian Huygens in 1657. Christian Huygens was born in the Hague, Holland.Mechanical clocks were made in the 14th century but they were too inaccurate to have minute hands.
Shadow clocks or sundials are the oldest instrument for telling the time. They were developed more than 4000 years ago. Water clocks were used in ancient Egypt. Time was measured by how long it took water to flow out of holes in a container. Sand clocks werw used in the Middle Ages. If they took an hour to empty they were called hourglasses. Today they are still often used as kitchen egg-timers. Pocket watches were invented in about 1500 and wristwatches started to get popular around 1900 when they were made mainly in France and Switzerland.
With my best wishes
