Spanish clothing, like Spanish music and cuisine, expresses the passion and sensuality of the inhabitants of this country.
During the 16th century, the Spanish traditional costume was known for its elegance, beauty and interesting decorations. The fabric used for tailoring was usually dense and richly decorated with gold or silver embroidery with multi-colored stones and pearls. The influence of the Arab Caliphate in the south of Spain was reflected in the use of ornate embroidery, the use of precious stones, buttons with ornaments, wide belts and large collars.
