In Ukraine, the basic secondary education lasts 5 years plus 3 weeks of final examinations at the end of Year 9. The study programme is provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The pupils have to study core subjects and optional courses. In Year 5, the core subjects include Ukrainian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages, World Literature, Maths, ICT, Ukrainian History, Nature Study, Music, Art, PE, Handcrafts and Health Education. Other subjects are introduced over the years. These are World History, Geography and Biology in Year 6; Physics in Year 7; Chemistry in Year 8 and the Basics of Law in Year 9. Each subject has a different teacher. Each discipline is taught between one and five times a week, and the timetable changes every year. All the classes stay the same for the lessons apart from the Foreign Languages, and in some schools, the Ukrainian Language, where pupils are divided into groups. Based on the students' current performance, a thematic evaluation is made in each subject. The semester evaluation is based on the results of the thematic evaluation and final tests. The final examinations are taken at the end of Year 9. The students receive the Certificate of Basic Secondary Education at the age of 14-15. This is an important step in the Ukrainian Education System. У меня 14 предложений получилось.
