<span>It
was carnival time again. It was time for fun (0) __and__ laughter.
Although I had seen carnival processions on television, I had never
taken part in (16) one before so I was looking forward to it. The procession began and we went singing and dancing (17) down the street watched by crowds of people. Balloons flew
up in the air and everyone was having (18) …a.. wonderful time.
Just then I realised that my young brother, who had (19) come….. with me
to the procession, was (20) …no.. longer with me. I asked one of my
friends to help me find him. It was a difficult thing to do because
everyone was dressed up and many of them were also wearing masks over
their (21) …faces…
Suddenly, I saw him. I could (22) …not.. believe my eyes. He was sitting
on the very first float right next to the ‘King of the Carnival’. He
(23) …was.. smiling and enjoying every minute of it. I shouted to him (24) …but.. because there was (25) …so… much noise, he
did not hear me at first. I kept (26) …on.. shouting until he finally
(27) saw..me and waved. I yelled out to (28) …him.. that he
should wait for me at the end of the street when the (29) parade.. was over. He nodded his head (30) …in.. agreement and went back
to waving and smiling at the crowd.</span>

<span>She was sixteen years old when she ran away from the foster family. Jasmine wanted to live on her own. She caught a train to London, thinking that it would be easier for her to survive </span><span>there.
Jasmine spent several nights in cheap hotels, but then when she had </span><span><span>run out of </span>money, she spent her first night on a bench.
After that she spent some nights in a hostel for the homeless and and sometimes in abandoned houses.
She used to share a single room with fifteen people, and the room were </span><span>usually filthy with no running water or electricity.
But </span><span>at least she had a roof over her head in times when there were sub-zero temperatures outdoors.
The government gave her money, but that was just enough to eat.
Jasmine sold "The Big Issue"</span><span><span> magazines </span>... that was all she could really do.
Homelessness is a vicious circle that is very difficult to break out of.
It's very hard to get work, because no one takes you seriously.
She would like to get a place which she could call her home.
In our time, you can see a lot of homeless people</span><span><span> in the streets</span>.
These people are very unhappy. They have neither home nor family, they have no nice
warm clothes or enough food. I think that these people need help.
All people need a comfortable home, warm clothes and enough food.</span>
