In England New Year’s Day is not a big holiday, it is not so popular. A lot of people go to bed before twelve o’clock on New Year’s Eve. But some families celebrate this evening at home. At midnight they also go out into the streets and squares.
In London people go to the Trafalgar Square. In this square they see a great tree decorated with little lamps. When the largest clock of London — Big Ben — begins to strike twelve, people in the square join their hands and sing. They also wish a Happy New Year to each other. New Year is one of the favourite holidays for many people in Great Britain.
It's quarter to 2.
It's three to 4.
It's half past 11.
It's twenty past 6.
We all do some kind of a work either to earn our live hood or to make a career. Hobby is something which we enjoy doing, we like indulging ourselves in the activity during our leisure or free time. We all have our likes and dislike. We enjoy doing something more than others. A hobby gives us pleasure for we do it, for the love of the work and not under compulsion to earn. Thus, it is more fulfilling and gives us more satisfaction and joy.
. . . ……………
My hobby is reading. I read story books, magazines, newspapers and any kind of material that I find interesting.……………
………Reading enables me to learn about so many things that I would otherwise not know. I learned about how people lived in bygone days of magic and mystery. I learned about the wonders of the world, space travel, human achievements, gigantic whales, tiny viruses and other fascinating things of our world.
…………So I continue to read. Besides being more informed about the world, I also spend my time profitably. It is indeed a good hobby!
